19th June

A selection of photos from our last day.

Most are from the Farne Islands boat trip.

Bridled Guillemot is a variation where the bird appears to have glasses arms coming out from its eyes. It is not a separate species.

17 June

Last morning before catching the ferry at lunchtime.

Visited Butt of Lewis at the North of the island. Lots of Fulmars, Shags and Gull with gannets passing.

The first few images are from Stornoway Harbour area early that morning.

14th June

Spent the day on Harris exploring upland areas and then visited a beach. There were about 20 people plus us on this enormous beach.

Some good sightings of both Golden and White-tailed Eagles.

The Ringed Plover is from yesterday.

12th June

Our last full day on the Uists. Still quite breezy, but the beach at Balranald still looking good.

Plenty of Short-eared Owl sightings today. There are 3 different birds in the photos.

As we arrived at a viewpoint a Golden Eagle passed close to chased by a Gull.

Tomorrow we catch the ferry to Harris/Lewis in the afternoon.

11th June

Still breezy but the sun was shining most of the day. The beaches look stunning (and empty).

Corncrake and Red-necked Phalarope were the main targets of the day.
